Soup lovers across America consume more than 10 billion bowls of soup each year - and by a wide margin, their favorite soups are Campbell's condensed soups in the familiar Red and White can. Our two most popular Campbell's soups are Chicken Noodle and Tomato. These are among the top 10 food items sold in grocery stores. Cooking with soup is also extremely popular in the U.S., where one out of every ten homemade dinners is made with a can of Campbell's condensed soup. In addition to our Campbell's condensed brand, Campbell is also known for many other soup brands, including our two popular ready-to-serve varieties Campbell's Chunky and Campbell's Select which feature easy-open pop top lids for greater convenience. These two varieties are also offered in microwavable bowls. For individuals with special dietary requirements, Campbell's Healthy Request is lower in sodium, fat, and cholesterol, and contains no MSG. Other U.S. Soup offerings include the Swanson broths and Campbell's Soup At Hand microwavable soups.
Each year, nearly 90 percent of American households purchase Campbell's soups and on average, consumers stock eleven cans of Campbell's soup in their pantries at all times. With a 69 percent share of the U.S. wet soup market, Campbell sells almost three billion cans of soup every year. Away from home, soup consumption is on the rise, with half of U.S. food dollars spent on food consumed outside the home. Today, Campbell has several thousand self-service, branded kettles in high traffic venues such as college, healthcare and business cafeterias across the country. In the restaurant marketplace, co-branding with Campbell's is growing.
