Soup
Soup lovers across America consume more than 10 billion bowls of soup each year – and, by a wide margin, their favorite soups are Campbell's condensed soups in the familiar red and white can. Our three most popular varieties are Chicken Noodle, Tomato and Cream of Mushroom, which are among the top 10 food items sold in grocery stores every week.
Campbell is also known for our three popular ready-to-serve varieties. Our Campbell's Chunky soups offer a nutritious way to satisfy hearty appetites. Our Campbell's Select Harvest soups feature high-quality ingredients, proprietary stocks, no artificial flavors, and no MSG. Our Campbell's V8 soups offer 20 percent of the U.S. government's daily vegetable recommendation in each serving. V8 soups are sold in aseptic packaging, which allows the soup to be cooked very briefly at high temperatures, producing the fresh flavor consumers love.
Other U.S. Soup offerings include the Swanson broths and stocks, Wolfgang Puck soup, stock, and broth products, Campbell's soup in microwavable bowls, and Campbell's Soup at Hand microwavable cups.
Campbell offers more than 90 soups at healthy sodium levels, including our iconic Campbell's condensed Tomato soup, our Campbell's Select Harvest soups, our Campbell's V8 soups, and others. Our Campbell's Healthy Request soups are lower in sodium, fat, saturated fat, and cholesterol, and each contains a positive nutrient, such as vitamin A.
In total in the U.S., Campbell sells almost 2 billion cans of soup every year, accounting for more than 60 percent of the U.S. wet soup market. Each year, nearly 100 million U.S. households, or more than 80 percent of all U.S. households, purchase our soups. On average, American consumers stock six cans of our soups in their pantries at all times.
