The date code displayed on our products is a best
used by date. This means that in order to experience
optimal color, flavor, aroma and texture the product
should be consumed prior to the end of the month displayed
on the product. For example, in order to experience
optimal quality a product with a date code that reads
FEB05 or FEB2005 should be consumed prior to the end
of February of the year 2005.

The shelf life of unopened Campbell canned products
varies from 1 to 2 years. In order to experience optimal
color, flavor, aroma and texture the product should
be consumed prior to the end of the month displayed
on the product.

It is perfectly safe to eat Campbell soups right out
of the can. Our chefs have already prepared and cooked
the soups for you. However, the full flavors of our
soups usually will peak when heated. We suggest that
you mix condensed soups with the recommended water
or milk additions before heating.

Yes! Our chefs are continually cooking up fun, fast
meal ideas using Campbell products. Some of our most
popular recipes are available right here online. Please
visit our Campbell's Kitchen site at www.campbellkitchen.com
for a wide variety of recipes. Also, we encourage
you to register for the Meal-mail®
email recipe program. This will provide you with weekly,
and even daily, fun recipes directly to your email
address!

Campbell is aware that many consumers are concerned
over their sodium intake. Our chefs have an ongoing
assignment to study acceptable amounts of salt in
our products. We offer lower salt alternatives in
our Healthy Request Soups, Campbell's Low Sodium Soups,
Swanson Natural Goodness Chicken Broth, 100% A•C•E
V8 Juice, Low Sodium V8 Juice, Campbell's Healthy
Request Tomato Juice, and Campbell's Low Sodium Tomato
Juice.

Monosodium glutamate is a flavor enhancer. Campbell
will clearly list MSG in the ingredient statement
when it is added to any Campbell product.

There were no changes to the product because of the
Easy Open lid.
However, we have made changes to many of our condensed
soups over the past 18 months, in order to improve
their taste and quality. Many varieties now contain
more meat, pasta, rice and vegetables.

We
first introduced the Pop Top cans on Campbell’s®
Chunky™ and Campbell’s® Select™
Ready to Serve soups. Consumer reaction was overwhelmingly
positive. Further consumer research told us that most
consumers prefer the convenience of the Easy Open
lid.

We
made the can slightly taller (+1/16”) to accommodate
the Pop Top lid.

| 1. |
Hold the can firmly below the can
edge with one hand. |
| 2. |
With your free hand, pull the tab up until it
touches the rim (do not rock the tab back and
forth). |
| 3. |
Rotate can one half turn (180 degrees) and pull
the tab back slowly while pressing down firmly
on the rim with thumb. |
| 4. |
When the lid is almost detached, twist the lid
slightly to pull completely off. |
|

Some can openers do work on the new Easy Open Pop
Top, but most traditional manual or electric can openers
will not work. The can openers that work on the new
cans cut the side of the can rather than the top.
Please see list below for can openers available that
open the lids.
|

Traditional can openers rest on the top rim of the
can while the “cutting wheel” blade slices
through the lid. Pop Top lids have a larger gap between
the top rim and the lid than regular cans do. Unfortunately,
the blades on traditional can openers are not long
enough to reach that far.

Campbell has worked with a kitchen utensil designer
to develop a utensil to help consumers who might have
trouble opening these cans. This utensil will be sold
in most supermarkets beginning in October 2003. It
will usually be found on a hanging strip in the soup
aisle or in the housewares aisle.

Yes, the can is recyclable in most municipalities
because it is made of steel.
The lid is made of a steel with an aluminum tab. It
is also recyclable in most municipalities, but please
check with your local authorities.

The 26 oz cans may get a Pop Top lid in the future.
For now, we have started with our most popular sizes.

We’re
sorry you are having trouble opening these lids. The
cans and Pop Tops we use have been carefully designed
to balance our requirements for product integrity
and ease of opening.
