The 5 Cs of Campbell: Character

Life at Campbell

For more than 150 years, we have strived to do the right thing as a company. We act with integrity and transparency, execute with excellence, and are accountable for our actions. It’s fundamental to who we are, and that’s why character is one of our five values.

Hear from some of the Campbell Leadership Team on what character means to them:

Acting with integrity and transparency

Whether we’re working with one another, making food for our consumers, delivering results for our customers and investors, or supporting the communities where we live and work—we are honest about what we do and why we do it. Acting with integrity and transparency is foundational to our purpose and culture

People have trusted Campbell for over 150 years. Not only do we want to maintain that trust, our ethics and compliance program is committed to building upon it.

-Julia Glass, Director, Corporate Compliance and Ethics

Executing with excellence

We hold ourselves to the highest standards in everything we do. We strive for excellence and, as we build momentum in the back half of our fiscal year, we will channel our competitive spirit to act with accountability and urgency to deliver on our commitments.

The thing that sets Campbell apart from other companies is the people. I’m surrounded by intelligent, innovative, creative people who push me to challenge myself and help me come up with better solutions for the company—and in the process develop new skills and advance my own career.

-Lisa Offt, Senior Director, Sales Finance

Accountable for our actions

No matter the circumstances, we do what we say we’re going to do. By holding ourselves accountable, the entire company thrives.

You have to own your thoughts and actions—and that includes when you make a mistake. Learn from it and then do things differently. We need to ask: are we being the people we need to be?

-Mem Legros, Senior Manager, Digital Commerce & Omni Shopper Marketing

We’re honored to have been named to Newsweek’s inaugural list of America’s Most Trusted Companies; in fact, we earned the top spot in the Food & Beverage industry. Generations of people have trusted us to provide food they love, and we’re proud of it.

Admit when you make a mistake as a leader. And follow that up by actively listening and acknowledging the points your team makes. It will go such a long way in making people feel that they can raise a question or contribute without any negative consequences.

-Sumit Luthra, Vice President of Strategy and Growth, Meals & Beverages

The 5 Cs of Campbell reflect the best of who we are and who we aspire to be. Living our values creates the inclusive, high-performance culture we need to achieve our mission to unlock our full growth potential.
