Revitalization and Renovation Coming to Camden’s Gateway District

News

Thirteen acres of unused land surrounding Campbell’s World Headquarters to be developed into a thriving business center with developer Brandywine Realty Trust.

Camden has been Campbell’s home for over 140 years. In 2007, we made a commitment to stay in our hometown and Campbell, the State of New Jersey, the County and City of Camden also announced plans to develop the area adjacent to our world headquarters.

Campbell acquired several vacant and neglected buildings, empty parking lots and other unused parcels of land to prepare them for redevelopment. As part of our commitment to Camden, Campbell has invested more than $132 million into the area’s redevelopment, including an expansion of our headquarters, including the 2010 opening of an 80,000-square-foot employee center and renovations to existing buildings on campus.

As an important next step to the renewal of the Gateway district, Campbell recently appointed Brandywine Realty Trust as the developer of this project. Campbell will work with Brandywine and our partners in the city, county and state to establish the Gateway District as a thriving business center. This project will breathe new life into the Camden community by creating jobs and attracting more businesses.
