At Campbell, we come to work every day with a sense of purpose reminding us that what we do every day matters – especially to the communities that rely on us to help them thrive. During this holiday season, our employees have been generously donating their time, talents and other treasures to send “tidings of comfort and joy” to neighbors in need.

Read on to share in the excitement of activities at our sites in Maxton, N.C.; Toronto; and Australia, and check back tomorrow to see how Campbell employees at World Headquarters, Napoleon, and Pepperidge Farm are also spreading holiday cheer.

Maxton, N.C.: Keep On Truckin’

Friday, December 12, Maxton, N.C., employees began loading an 18-wheeler with warm clothing, toiletries, eight pallets of soup, five tons of potatoes, and more than 210 bicycles and riding toys (see feature photo). The gifts were bound for Scotland and Robeson County Church and Community Centers, where the Maxton team laughed, joked and even whistled and sang as they unloaded the more than $20,000 in gifts they had collected for 500 needy families.

Earlier this year, the team also donated more than 110,000 cases of soup and juices to the Tri-County Veteran Stand Down, helping more than 165 veterans who are homeless or at risk of losing their homes.

Toronto: We Love a Parade!

On Saturday, December 6, the team in Toronto, Canada, served more than 200 cups of warm Tomato, Chicken Noodle, and Vegetable soup to the Lakeshore Santa Claus Parade participants.

The parade begins directly in front of the site. For the past six years, kids and adults waiting to board the floats and march in the bands have kept warm with Campbell’s soup, served with a smile by Campbell employees. This year’s treats were provided by the Foodservice department.

Toronto employees also hosted their annual toy drive supporting community partners LAMP Community Centre and Women’s Habitat shelter for victims of domestic violence.

Australia: Taking a Chance on Charity

Australia’s Huntingwood, Marleston, and Virginia bakeries and Shepparton soup plant employees are participating in a holiday raffle for a variety of fun prizes. The roughly $1,250 (U.S.) expected to be raised will be donated to The Arnott’s Foundation.

In addition, the North Strathfield headquarters team has placed at least 100 gifts under the Giving Tree for Fairy Sparkle, an Australian icon who visits hospital patients, to deliver to sick children at nearby Mount Druitt Hospital.
