May 4, Star Wars Day, is the worldwide day to say “May the 4th be with you” and Campbell’s Soup wants to celebrate the beloved Star Wars story that binds the galaxy together with new soup labels featuring the Episode VIII stars.

This year, our team is joining the party with the release of four new Campbell’s Condensed soup labels hitting the market featuring Rey, Finn, BB-8 and Kylo Ren from Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

One of the labels features Rey, the lead female character in the new film and a fan favorite. In January, fans saw that she was missing from games, toys and other merchandise and took to social media, using the hashtag #WheresRey to show their support for the lead character.

“The buzz of it all got us thinking,” said Melissa Price, Marketing Manager, Innovation Commercialization. “What if we can get to market quickly with something that our consumers are already talking about?”

Our soup team developed four label designs featuring the Episode VIII characters and each variety includes pasta shapes with mini characters. The soups are ready to be shipped today, which also is the DVD release date of the movie.

“The Star Wars Classic line we launched earlier this year prior to The Force Awakens was a popular addition to our Condensed Kids soup portfolio,” said Melissa. “We hope to continue the excitement with this round.”
