Soulfull Project Goes National, Aiming to Donate One Million Servings by 2019

News

By: Megan Shea and Chip Heim, Co-Founders of The Soulfull Project

Looking into the eyes of a single mother trying to feed her children… that is how this all started. While visiting homes across America as part of a research initiative, we met a family that was living paycheck to paycheck and struggling to put food on the table.

We gave them everything we had on us and left with a burning desire to do something more, to create something that could make a bigger impact.

We began to think about how we could personally help those in need in our own community. We realized that many people, like us, want to help others in need, but often don’t know where to start. That night The Soulfull Project was born, a company with a “buy one give one” that gives people a chance to make a positive impact with their purchases and helps them feel more connected to their communities.

We started with the most important meal of the day – breakfast.

All our high-quality, nutritious, hot cereal varieties are Non-GMO Project Verified, Whole Grain Stamp-approved, and contain no artificial flavors or colors. You can now find our products nationally on Amazon and at CIBO Gourmet Express Markets in airports across the U.S., as well as at Berkeley Bowl, Earth Fare, Jewel-Osco, Wegmans, Central Market, Fred Meyer, Giant, Shaws, and Stop & Shop locations.

Not only is our cereal delicious, but the best part is for every serving purchased, we donate a serving of our wholesome, 4 Grain Blend to a food bank in that region. So, you can help your neighbor and the more than 46 million Americans who rely on the Feeding America network each year for extra support.

We’ve already donated more than 100,000 servings, and with our newly expanded reach, we’re excited to pledge to donate one million servings of our high-quality, nutritious hot cereal to food banks over the next two years.

We’ve personally visited over 80 food banks this year and spent a lot of time getting to know the volunteers and the amazing people who run the 200 food banks in our network. These experiences have truly transformed the way we see the world. The more we learn, the more we realize how many of our neighbors need help, and that’s what inspires us to keep going!

We’re also honored to have achieved Certified B Corporation status, which means we meet the nonprofit B Lab’s meeting rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency, and we join more than 2,300 remarkable, like-minded companies who also strive to use business as a force for good.

Now that we’re available online and coast-to-coast, please share our mission so together we can reach one million donations — and this is just the beginning.
