Campbell Named One of America’s Most JUST Companies!

News

by Megan Maltenfort, Senior Manager, Corporate Social Responsibility

Each of us at Campbell is proud today to be ranked amongst the “JUST 100,” which recognizes our commitment to corporate responsibility.

For the second consecutive year, Campbell has been named one of America’s Most JUST Companies by Forbes and JUST Capital, which ranks the largest publicly traded companies in the U.S. on the issues Americans care about most. Companies are scored in seven key issue areas, including worker and customer treatment, products, environment, community, leadership and more. We are proud that Campbell was included for outperforming our peers in areas like fair pay and good benefits, positive customer service experiences, efficient use of natural resources, waste reduction and acting with integrity.

As a purpose-driven company, we’re particularly proud of this achievement because it recognizes our commitments to corporate responsibility, governance, transparency and the communities where we live and work.

This ranking is based on data from August 1, 2016 to July 30, 2017, during that time we advanced our work and made progress against many of our commitments, which helped us improve our ranking this year, moving from #88 in 2017 to #84 in 2018, out of 890 companies. We also moved from #5 in the Food, Beverage & Tobacco industry to #3 this year out of 31 companies.

Campbell is committed to crafting more nutritious products and we delivered nearly 16 billion servings of vegetables worldwide last year. We are working to reduce waste sent to landfills and cut food waste in half and have successfully diverted 91 percent of our total waste from landfills. And we continue to be committed to consumer transparency.

The JUST Capital Rankings are based on one of the most comprehensive surveys ever conducted on public attitudes toward corporate behavior, involving 9,000 American respondents in 2018 and more than 81,000 over the past four years.

Campbell is proud to be named among the top 100 as it further reinforces the alignment between Campbell’s Purpose: Real Food that matters for life’s moments and our consumers’ values.
