Today, we welcomed new neighbors to Camden, the city that Campbell has called home for nearly 150 years. As Subaru of America officially cut the ribbon at its new North American headquarters, the occasion also marked 12 years of efforts by Campbell and our partners in the city, county, and state to revitalize the 13-acre Gateway District.

With a focus on improving the quality of life in our city, we have invested more than $132 million in expanding and improving our World Headquarters and the surrounding area. 

Back in 2007, it was quite a different picture in the Gateway—and for Camden overall. Campbell announced plans to expand our World Headquarters and become the master redeveloper of the Gateway. Our vision was to transform the District into a thriving office park and business center, breathing new life into the city by spurring economic development, creating jobs and attracting more companies to our hometown.

We began acquiring vacant and neglected buildings, empty parking lots and other unused parcels of land to prepare them for redevelopment. Since then, abandoned buildings gave way to green fields awaiting new corporate tenants, and now another major corporation calls Camden home.

We’re excited that Subaru is joining us in playing a major role in Camden’s renaissance.
