America’s Second Harvest And Campbell’s Chunky Soup Declare October Tackling Hunger Month

Press Releases

CAMDEN, N.J., Oct. 1 /PRNewswire/ — With a simple click of the mouse or a
visit to the grocery store throughout the month of October, NFL fans can help
generate much-needed donations to help feed America’s hungry.

Campbell’s(R) Chunky soup and America’s Second Harvest today officially
announced a partnership to declare October as Tackling Hunger(TM) Month. The
organizations hope to generate a donation of up to $700,000 in the month of
October for America’s Second Harvest affiliates across the country. Tackling
Hunger Month is part of Campbell’s season-long Tackling Hunger 2002 effort,
which aims to raise awareness for the issue of hunger and generate a massive
donation to food banks nationwide.

Click for Cans is Back

Participating in Tackling Hunger Month is easy. In addition to the
America’s Second Harvest partnership, Campbell will re-introduce the popular
Click for Cans(TM) program starting October 1. Click for Cans is a unique on-
line food drive on the Chunky soup website, www.chunky.com , where fans are
encouraged to click on the helmet logo of their favorite NFL team. For every
click, Campbell will make a donation of one can of a Campbell’s soup in the
name of the fan’s designated team towards the goal of 5,000,000 cans of soup
to food banks in the United States. Click for Cans donations are made over
the course of the year to a variety of hunger relief charities across the
country, in NFL cities and in many of the 30,000 communities of Campbell
retail partners. Click for Cans will run throughout October or until the
5,000,000 can goal is reached.

Campbell’s Chunky Soup and America’s Second Harvest

coupon for Campbell’s Chunky soup. For each of these Chunky soup coupons
redeemed at a local retailer, Campbell’s Chunky soup will automatically donate
5 cents to America’s Second Harvest up to a total donation of $100,000.
Select retailers have also teamed up with Campbell’s Chunky soup in several
areas to donate an additional 5 cents to a local America’s Second Harvest
affiliate for each can of Chunky soup [18 oz. or larger] purchased at their

in your community. To find out how to donate time, money or food to a food

their next meal will come from, including 13 million children who are affected
by hunger. Each year, America’s Second Harvest network of local hunger relief
agencies distributes more than 1.4 billion pounds of donated food to more than
23 million hungry Americans.
