CAMDEN, N.J., July 2, 2001 – Campbell Soup Company (NYSE: CPB) today announced the appointment of D. Eric “Rick” Pogue as Senior Vice President, Human Resources. He will report to President and Chief Executive Officer Douglas R. Conant and oversee the company’s global human resources organization. Campbell has approximately 24,000 employees worldwide. Pogue’s appointment is effective July 16, 2001.
Pogue, 52, was most recently Senior Vice President, Human Resources for Revlon Worldwide where he worked from 1997-2000. He has 30 years of comprehensive corporate human resources experience, including work within the food industry at Philip Morris Companies, Inc. in addition to other consumer businesses.

Pogue began his career at Case Western Reserve University in both faculty and staff positions. In 1972, he joined Cleveland State University, where he spent four years in staff development and training. From 1976-1982, he held several positions at the Diamond Shamrock Corporation. For the next six years he served as Vice President and later, Senior Vice President of Human Resources for Reichold Chemicals. From 1988-1992 he served as Corporate Vice President, Human Resources and then Vice President, Employee Relations & Business Services for Philip Morris Companies, Inc. In these senior leadership roles he worked with Kraft Foods after it was acquired by Philip Morris.
In 1992, Pogue and his wife Marie formed Next Phase Ventures where he served as President. Two years later he joined the Marvel Entertainment Group as Vice President, Human Resources & Business Services, where he served from 1994-1997 until joining Revlon.

Pogue earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Heidelberg College and a Master of Arts degree in Personnel from Bowling Green State University.
