Press Releases

Former Tetra Pak Group CEO Brings Broad International Experience

CAMDEN, N.J.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Jun. 29, 2009–
Campbell Soup Company (NYSE:CPB) announced today that its Board
of Directors has elected Nick Shreiber, retired Chief Executive Officer
of Tetra Pak Group, to the Board, effective July 1, 2009.

Shreiber, 60, is an international executive with more than 30 years of
business experience. From 2000 to 2005, he served as President and CEO
of Tetra Pak, a global company headquartered in Switzerland with
approximately $12 billion in sales and a recognized leader in packaging
and equipment for food products. Shreiber spent 18 years with Tetra Pak,
including serving as President, North, Central and South Americas prior
to becoming CEO. Since retiring from full-time corporate life in early
2006, he has been active in business through management consulting and
executive coaching. He also spent 15 months as Executive in Residence at
the International Institute for Management Development (IMD), a leading
global business school in Switzerland. Prior to Tetra Pak, Shreiber was
a partner at McKinsey & Company, with responsibility for major
industrial and service sector clients in Europe and Latin America.

Shreiber succeeds Philip Lippincott, who retired from the Board in
November 2008 after 24 years of service. With Shreiber’s election, the
Campbell Board will consist of 16 members, of whom Douglas R. Conant,
Campbell’s President and Chief Executive Officer, is the only director
who is not independent.

“Nick’s global experience and knowledge of the food and packaging
industries will complement our Board,” said Campbell Chairman Harvey
Golub. “His experience in Russia and throughout Europe will be
especially beneficial to Campbell’s international expansion plans. We
look forward to adding another accomplished business leader to our
Board.”

In addition to his management experience, Shreiber will bring a wealth
of academic experience to Campbell. He currently serves as an advisory
board member of Goizueta Business School at Emory University and a
member of the Board of Overseers of Smolny College in St. Petersburg,
Russia. Additionally, he serves on the advisory board of IESE Business
School in Spain and is a member of the Society of International Business
Fellows.

A native of Argentina, Shreiber earned an engineering degree from
Instituto Tecnologico de Buenos Aires and an MBA degree from IMD. As an
advocate and champion of higher education, Shreiber funds six “Shreiber
Scholarships” at universities in Russia and Argentina.
