Norwalk, C.T., Nov. 24, 2009 – Better Homes and Gardens, in partnership with the Pepperidge Farm® Puff Pastry brand, is encouraging home chefs everywhere to enter the 1,2,3 Puff! Recipe Contest this holiday season for a chance to win an all-expense paid trip for two to New York City. To enter, contestants must create an original recipe with Pepperidge Farm Puff Pastry Sheets or Shells and upload a photograph of the finished recipe to www.123PuffPastry.com/contest.

From savory appetizers to seasonal entrees and sweet, flaky desserts, Pepperidge Farm Puff Pastry has long been a staple in creating simple yet impressive dishes. To highlight this versatility, contestants may submit up to three entries, one for each category: appetizer, main dish, and dessert. Judging will be based on ease of recipe creation/re-creation, creative use of Pepperidge Farm Puff Pastry product, and originality of the created recipe. Entries must be received by December 31, 2009. Judges will announce a total of fifteen finalists, 5 for each category, on or before January 15, 2010.

Finalist entries will be displayed on www.123PuffPastry.com, and visitors may view and vote for their favorite entries from January 15, 2010 – February 1, 2010. The Finalist with the overall highest number of votes will win the Grand Prize of an exciting trip to New York City including round-trip economy air transportation for two, hotel accommodations for two nights (double occupancy), ground transportation, a pastry class for two, and spending money for tours, bake shops, and meals. The Grand Prize-winning recipe will be revealed on www.PuffPastry.com in March and may be featured in an upcoming issue of Better Homes and Gardens magazine.

Additionally, there will be three First Prize Category Winners, each of whom will receive a prize package of professional baking supplies such as a 3-Piece Nonstick Springform Pan Set, Digital Kitchen Timer, and Tapered Rolling Pin, plus, the Better Homes and Gardens Complete Book of Baking cookbook.
