Green Bay Packers Fans Demonstrate Unrivaled Passion and Philanthropic Spirit by Clinching Eighth Consecutive Campbell’s(R) Chunky(TM) Soup Click for Cans(TM) Championship

Press Releases

Packers Faithful Click for a Cause to Help Donate 18,000 Cans of Campbell’s(R) Chunky(TM) Soup for Wisconsin Feeding America Food BankCAMDEN, N.J., Jan 26, 2010 (BUSINESS WIRE) — They may not be heading for the Super Bowl this year but fans of the
Green Bay Packers have much to celebrate. Once again, Packers faithful
have shown such unfaltering team loyalty and a benevolent spirit that
they have run away with an unprecedented eighth consecutive annual Campbell’s
Chunky soup Click for Cans Championship title after a final
round playoff with fans of the Jacksonville Jaguars. Green Bay Packers’
fans scored 137,197 votes to the Jags’ 68,328.

Now in its tenth year of supporting hunger relief in America, Campbell
Soup Company (NYSE:CPB) invited NFL fans to channel their team
spirit for a good cause as part of the Chunky Click for Cans online
food drive. While their favorite teams fought it out on the field, fans
battled it out online at chunky.com,
where more than 1.7 million votes were cast by clicking on the helmet of
their favorite teams. In doing so, fans helped their local Feeding
America food banks earn soup donations – and push the Green Bay Packers
to the top spot for the eighth year in a row.

“Once again, NFL fans showed true passion for their teams and their
dedication to fighting hunger in their local communities,” said Douglas
Brand, Campbell’s Chunky soup Senior Brand Manager. “We
congratulate the Green Bay Packers’ fans and thank all NFL fans for
helping Campbell’sChunky soup nourish communities that
desperately need it.”

Chunky Helps Address the Nutrition Gap

Since September 2000, the Click for Cans competition has provided
hundreds of thousands of cans of soup to food banks across the country,
helping to meet the demands of those in need. For local communities in
the 32 NFL markets that benefit from these donations, Campbell’sChunky
is helping to address a nutrition gap. With 23 Chunky soups
delivering a full serving of vegetables and 100 percent lean meat, it
means hungry families will receive nutritious foods that taste great and
will help fill them up.

“Nearly 50 million Americans face hunger on a daily basis and finding
nutritious foods has become even more of a struggle during these tough
economic times,” said Doug Montgomery, Director of Corporate
Partnerships for Feeding America. “Every donation of Chunky soup
provides the sort of nourishment that people really need.”

The Packers’ Road to Victory

Over the past 17 weeks, NFL teams competed in Click for Cans
against the same opponents they faced in real-life NFL games. At the end
of each voting week, wins and losses were tallied for each team based on
the total votes accumulated during each match-up and teams were ranked
by their records to show overall standings.

Following the regular season match-ups, the teams with the top four Click
for Cans
records from each conference battled it out bracket-style,
culminating in the thrilling championship match between the Green Bay
Packers and the Jacksonville Jaguars. Their place in the final match-up
earned a 12,000 can donation to both America’s Second Harvest of
Wisconsin and LSS Second Harvest Food Bank of North Florida and an
additional 5,000 cans for the overall winning team, the Green Bay
Packers.

Fans of the other 30 NFL teams did not go home empty-handed, however, as
every NFL team received a 1,000 can donation for their local Feeding
America food bank on behalf of the Campbell’s Chunky/NFL Tackling
Hunger(R)
program.
