CAMDEN, N.J., Nov 09, 2010 (BUSINESS WIRE) — Campbell Soup Company(NYSE:CPB) today announced that Post Foods will become new participating partner in the company’s long-running Labels for Education (LFE) program. The addition of all Post Cereals brands, including over 40 participating products and leading varieties like Honey Bunches of Oats, Pebbles, Post Shredded Wheat and Post Raisin Bran, builds on previously announced partnerships with Pop Secret popcorn and BIC stationery products.
With sales over $1 billion annually, Post sells more than 360 million units each year. All Post brands will carry the Labels for Education insignia on package to promote participation in the program.
“We are thrilled about this new partnership with Post Cereals,” said Mike Salzberg, President – Campbell Sales Company. “It expands the reach of the Labels for Education program into the cereal aisle and provides LFE participants with a new way to earn points that can be redeemed for arts, athletics and academic materials for their schools. In this economy, people are looking for ways to stretch budgets, and we are pleased to help them leverage LFE to do just that. In January, people will see this new partnership promoted in newspapers across the country, and in many markets, they will be able to easily participate in the program thanks to our new E-Labels initiative.”
Newly labeled Post brands featuring the Labels for Education logo are expected to arrive on store shelves beginning in February. “We are excited to participate in the Labels for Education program and to provide our consumers with the ability to enrich their schools with each purchase of Post cereal brands,” said Kelly Annis, Post’s Director of Consumer Promotions.
Since its launch in 1973, the Labels for Education program has provided over $110 million in school supplies and educational materials to help enrich thousands of school programs in the areas of arts, athletics and academics.
In recent years, the Labels for Education program has enlisted a number of programming partners, including Safe America(TM) and Harlem Globetrotters(R) Character Building, to help enrich the program’s educational offerings. A partnership with the GRAMMY Foundation is the program’s newest, and it has helped promote the importance of music education while bringing Artist Ambassadors to schools as part of the “GRAMMY in the Schools” initiative.
