Specially Pink-Wrapped Pepperidge Farm Cookies Available in October During National Breast Cancer Awareness Month



NORWALK, C.T., October 1, 2009 – This October, indulging in some of your favorite cookies will come with a new reward as Pepperidge Farm releases a variety of specially pink-wrapped cookies, including Original, Mint and Double Chocolate Milano®; Chocolate Chunk Milk Chocolate Macadamia and White Chocolate Macadamia; as well as Soft Baked Oatmeal Raisin to show support for Susan G. Komen for the Cure® during National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. As part of the brand’s ongoing commitment to finding the cures for breast cancer, Pepperidge Farm will continue its support for Susan G. Komen for the Cure through a total donation of $270,000 in 2009.


Each day, countless people take pleasure in the distinctive taste and texture of Pepperidge Farm cookies like Milano, Chocolate Chunk and Soft Baked. “Enjoying these delicious cookies will be a little sweeter this October when consumers know that their purchase will help Pepperidge Farm support the important work advances in breast cancer made possible by Susan G. Komen for the Cure,” said Michael Simon, Vice President, General Manager, Snacks at Pepperidge Farm. “We are proud to offer people simple ways to ‘go pink’ and become involved in helping to find the cures for breast cancer.”


Consumers can play the Circles of Inspiration game online at www.pepperidgefarm.com/pink. For every game played, Pepperidge Farm will donate $1.00 to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, up to $50,000.1


Susan G. Komen for the Cure will also partner with Pepperidge Farm Foodservice for Sodexo, Inc.’s Breast Cancer Awareness program. Pepperidge Farm Foodservice will donate $20,0001 to Susan G. Komen for the Cure and for the month of October will package 4-pack Milano Cookies in special “pink” film. General Mills’ Yoplait yogurt and Coca-Cola’s Fuze Empower beverages are also participants in this program. All of these efforts will help consumers support various Susan G. Komen for the Cure activities, including national research grants and community outreach projects.
