CHARLOTTE, N.C., Oct. 17, 2019 – Campbell Soup Company (NYSE: CPB) today announced more than $1.5 million in grants to 22 organizations as part of the Campbell Soup Foundation’s annual grantmaking cycle and Campbell’s Healthy Communities, the company’s signature philanthropic program. The grantees include five organizations with operations in North Carolina where Campbell has a significant presence, including a Meals & Beverages manufacturing facility in Maxton and a Snacks operations center in Charlotte.
The Campbell Soup Foundation’s grantmaking focuses on three key areas: increasing healthy food access; encouraging healthy living; and nurturing Campbell neighborhoods. The Campbell’s Healthy Communities program is focused on improving the health of young people in communities where Campbell has operations.

North Carolina grantees include Charlotte Food Policy Council, which advocates for policies that build a sustainable, equitable and healthy local food system; Charlotte-Mecklenburg School Foundation, which is creating a new mobile education kitchen unit that will travel to schools to support nutrition education programming in partnership with Campbell grantee, FoodCorps; and Communities in Schools – Robeson County, which focuses on increasing food access for students in Maxton, N.C., especially outside of school time.
