Across the supply chain, people are working hard to keep up with the increased demand for food and supplies, while adapting to enhanced safety measures in response to COVID-19. When our soups, sauces and snacks are produced at our plants, we rely on our carrier partners and their drivers to transport them. These drivers are critical in making sure food gets to our retailers’ shelves.
While out on the road, truck drivers typically rely on rest stops and restaurants for food. Many of these establishments have been shuttered, leaving drivers with limited options for food.
We thought we could help. Our Transportation, Community Affairs and Customer Service teams worked to find a way to support the drivers who work for our four largest national carriers: Andrus Transportation, Knight Transportation, Swift Transportation and USXpress. In appreciation for their work we donated over 1,500 cases of soup and snacks. Drivers picked up products like Campbell’s Chunky Clam Chowder and Chili Mac, Goldfish crackers and Snyder’s of Hanover pretzels to bring back to their terminals to distribute to hundreds of drivers across America.
We appreciate the work of our carrier partners across the country, and we’re glad we could bring them a little comfort on their long hauls.
