A Statement from Denise Morrison, President and CEO

“Racism and murder are unequivocally reprehensible and are not morally equivalent to anything else that happened in Charlottesville.  I believe the President should have been – and still needs to be – unambiguous on that point.

Following yesterday’s remarks from the President, I cannot remain on the Manufacturing Jobs Initiative. I will continue to support all efforts to spur economic growth and advocate for the values that have always made America great.”

Congratulations! I’m going to celebrate your CEO’s resignation with a bowl of delicious Campbell soup!

  • Robert Greene

Thank you, Ms. Morrison, for this courageous and righteous step! I look forward to continuing to be a loyal Campbell’s Soup customer. I couldn’t make my Mom’s world-famous macaroni-and-cheese recipe without your Cream of Chicken Soup. Thank you, thank you!!!

    • Jack Burns

She needs all the help she Can get. Stock declined over 20% this year. Buy some tomatoe soup too if you want to help her. Try to ignore the salt content. Your heart won’t know.

  • It should not have taken this long for you to recognize the bigotry and hatred in the Trump White House. You didn’t get to be CEO of one of America’s most iconic companies by being naive.

  • Nathan Greenberg

Like the President, this is tardy. Unlike the President, you’re doing the right thing.

    • Maybe she’s doing the right thing. Trump went back on his own words on day three. Let’s see if the CEO walks it back tomorrow!

  • Jack Burns

Pay attention to the earnings not political noise. You say nothing about black deaths but a white girl is murdered you all if a sudden gave a conscience?? Aren’t blacks equal to whites? You sound like a Racist. Where are your comments on black deaths??

    https://www.dnainfo.com/chicago/2017-chicago-murders

    • You are concerned about black-on-black violence? What are your suggestions on how to avoid the crime, segregation, lack of education, and poverty in black inner city communities?

  • David Greenberg

mmm mmm good! That’s why Campbell’s CEO is mmm mmm good!

  • Melody Stewart

Thank you for your actions to denounce Mr Trump’s complete lack of morality and decency as demonstrated yet again. We can continue to enjoy your products!

    • Jack Burns

Buy a lot. Her stock is in the basement. Soup is full of salt. Sakes Way Down. And for good reason.

      • SoupFan1986

What you got against soup??? Shilling for Big Stew for the Beef industry like your lackeys????Interesting… NOT. HMMM…. go back to the stew-ers where you belong.

    • Jack Burns

So you continue to support Rham Emmanuel? No outrage. Or are you just a Trump hater no matter what he does or says?

Hey Mr Mayor, Melody supports your stance on crime. Don’t kill any whites in Chicago though. Look at what just one death in Charlottesville did? Black deaths seem to be OK to Melody and your other soupers.

Very sad what happens if you are black in Chicago. I pray everyday for the families but these soupers do not care.

Apparently you and others did not hear the President clearly. Obviously many “Never Trumpers”. For me and my family, buying Campbell soups ends today.

    • Misty D. Dady

Bye Felicia? You boycott and protest anyone that does not blindly follow your dictator. She is absolutely right to say that racism and murder are not morally equivalent to anything else that happened there. There was no “all sides”.

That’s your attempt at witty repartee? LOL. No wonder. You yourself cannot “wire” in English. I get it. It’s hard for some.

          • My2Yen

            You are wired?
            It all makes sense……….

      • Antfia and BLM attacked people who were protesting against Confederate monuments being removed.

        • jp5472

Thanks for spreading falsehoods. Anyone fighting Nazis and KKK, along with the umpteen other white supremacy groups that were there, all with riot gear on, with assault weapons hanging on their bodies, spouting their hate, is not anyone in the wrong. Removing Confederate statues representing traitors to our country, glorifying hate and treasonous behavior, and visible signs against the values clearly stated in the preamble of our Declaration of Independence, “All men are created equal”, is long overdue.

          • My2Yen

First night of the protest, an antifa injured a police officer while resisting arrest.
Police did not step in to defend the organizers court approved right to demonstrate.
Antifa and anarchists were throwing urine and feces at the organizers of the protest.
Organizers were injured from rocks being thrown at them, and burned!

Fields car was heavily damaged by Antifa and anarchists.
Fields action was REVENGE for the days activities by a deranged man.

      • My2Yen

        There sure was “all sides”
Which side was out in full force to prevent “FREE SPEECH”?

Have you forgotten about how many people in the past have given up their lives to protect this countries liberty of Free Speech?

        • Misty D. Dady

No, fool. There was no “all sides”. You’re literally saying there is a moral equivalent to racism and murder, and that such an equivalent was present. There is not, and it was not. Period. And if you’re seriously going to sit here and argue about it, then you’re un-American garbage and a moral despot.

P.S. No one was shutting down free speech. Literally not. With all due respect, go fuck yourself. The views you have just expressed render you irrelevant.

          • My2Yen

Thanks for giving me five! Let me double up the five and give it back. You’re literally saying there is a moral equivalent to losing FREE SPEECH and FREEDOM of PRESS and FREEDOM of RELIGION. There is NO equivalent! PERIOD! And if you’re seriously going to sit there and argue about it, then you’re un-American garbage and a moral despot.
AntiFA is doing their best to shut down free speech. LITERALLY! The views you have just expressed, render you irrelevant!

thanks for keeping the faith friend!

  • Danielle Rhéaume

Thank you for seeing the truth, eventually not participating, and displaying moral courage by speaking out against Trump’s racist rhetoric through your statement. I hope that more Americans will follow suit and do the same. It is never too late to admit through your actions that you’ve made a mistake.

If we want to create positive change, we have to be willing to accept people who have made errors of judgment and been lead astray by Trump, maybe giving him a chance even when they may have had their concerns. The most important thing is that we steadily move away from this dark time for our country and work together for a better, brighter, and more collaborative future that celebrates our diversity instead of condemning it. Trump doesn’t fit into that picture. We have a lot of work to do, but people in history have faced greater challenges and overcome them. We will succeed and we will be better for it, but we have to stay focused.

    • Trump’s racist rhetoric through your statement

lol. Yeah, your not fooling anyone, you hated Trump from day one and you will hate him forever.

      • Brent Jatko

What’s to love about tRumpenfuhrer? His love of David Duke? His birtherism?

  • Fizzgig36

Congratulations for putting your customers first. The next time you serve on a council, perhaps you can be an advocate for more than the industry, the company, and the employees(as you were so quick to point out as to why you were staying).

  • Luane Conn

I just had my last bowl of vegetarian vegetable soup. I will not support a company that will not work with the duly elected president of the United States. Intolerant is a good way to describe the CEO. President Trump is exactly right, both sides had bad people involved in the protest.

    • Fizzgig36

They were only willing to work with the president at the expense of customers. That is why you should be outraged. They said it themselves.

“We believe it continues to be important for Campbell to have a voice and provide input on matters that will affect our industry, our company and our employees in support of growth,” Campbell continued.

“Therefore, Ms. Morrison will remain on the President’s Manufacturing Jobs Initiative,” Campbell’s statement concluded.

Notice how CUSTOMERS are noticeably absent?

      • Chaps Crumpton

I see they did NOT retract their sweeping mis-characterization of the Presidents statement. Ms. Morrison is an obvious Left Wing Idealogue and should stepdown to allow a more conservative business oriented representative to serve.

        • jp5472

          Decency has no party allegiance!

    • Greg

Lucane conn, because the president is racist and a bigot. No he was not right, kkk and neo nazis should not be a side in the conversation or any protest! it seems you are one of them too

      • Luane Conn

You need to read a history book. Trump is a New Yorker and a lifelong democrat. This racist nonsense is old news. The racists are the democrats the party of the KKK. Stop believing the lies. The democrats put the statues up, they can tear them down. My ancestors fought for the Union which freed the slaves. Don’t try to insult me, I forgot more than you know.

  • Tara

Smart move. A bit slow, but better late than never.

  • RickyB

I disagree with this CEO’s statement. President Trump *did* unequivocally denounce the ideology of the neo-Nazi group there, and he unequivocally denounced the murder that took place. He also unequivocally denounced the violence ON BOTH SIDES, which he is right to do. He *did not* say they are morally equivalent, but he did say they are both wrong. And he is correct. I will no longer purchase Campbell’s products.

    • If the President did denounce Nazis, he did it so ineffectively that 9 GOP leaders of the largest companies in America didn’t manage to hear it.

Even his own Chief-of-Staff shook his head, stared at the ground in disgust as the Fake President Little Fingers said some of the Nazis were “good people”.

  • Fizzgig36

They were only willing to work with the president at the expense of customers. That is why you should be outraged. They said it themselves.

    • Sinderela

What makes you think that Customers are noticeably absent. The customers are in the Industry, the Company and the employees.

  • RickyB

Just a note that Campbell’s or Disqus are removing comments that they don’t like.

  • RickyB

What the heck did you write?
It’s a few hundred dollars and a college English class. Go!

    • Misty D. Dady

There was no both sides, fool. Sit down. Nor did he “unequivocally” do jack. The whole effing world saw his response.

    • Weird that 9 GOP leaders of some of the most powerful companies in the world couldn’t understand why the president just couldn’t denounce Nazism without having a “whataboutism” decrying those that oppose Nazis.

The people that fight Nazis would cease to exist if the Nazis would go away.

The Nazis won’t go away until they are stomped into the dirt, like they were over and over.

      • Weird that 9 GOP leaders of some of the most powerful companies in the world couldn’t understand why the president just couldn’t denounce Nazism without having a “whataboutism” decrying those that oppose Nazis.

Maybe there are SWJs, maybe they are just lying…like SJWs, maybe they are just virtue signaling.

        https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hoXThCb8EZA

        • If anyone is “virtue signaling” it’s Trump. He’s lying through his teeth. When he said he disavowed racism it looked like he had a gun to his head. He hated it so bad he had to walk it all back the next day and falsely equate those fighting Nazis with actual Nazis.

The evil ones are the actual Nazis.

        • Trump is virtue signaling when he proclaims he’s not racist.

I can find another 100 videos of him talking about how he comes from the right genes and that he is genetically superior than most people.

      • The Nazis won’t go away until they are stomped into the dirt, like they were over and over.

Whites won’t go away until they are stomped into the dirt, like they were over and over.

        Your welcome.

        • Not all white people are Nazis.

          • kbsamurai

Correction – the vast majority of white people are not Nazis. A lot of white people have died fighting and killing and stamping out Nazis, stamping out the old generation at least. Unfortunately, intolerance is a legacy that every human generation has to continue to fight in some way. It’s just sad that there is an infection in the WH.

          • Not really a correction, more of a clarification. Very very few people of any race are Nazis and thus don’t deserve to be stomped into the ground.

But all Nazis are Nazis and they do deserve to be stomped into the ground.

  • Misty D. Dady

Thank you for this statement. I believe you addressed the “all sides” part better than perhaps anyone else by saying that racism and murder are not equivalent to anything else that happened there. There was no “all sides”.

    • There was no “all sides”.

You said this already…multiple times. It doesn’t get more true the more times you say it. The alt left(BLM and Afita) was a side.

The Mayor who gave stand down orders is also to blame.

      • Misty D. Dady

Oh look, I have a trollfan. Yes, nazi-lover, it is true. I didn’t read the rest. I really have no respect for your kind. Bye Felicia.

  • Notagod

    Thank You!

  • Holly Audette

I recommend every American who believes no one should get a pass regarding personal responsibility, that no group is “excused” from responsibility for violence, discontinue purchasing these products as the CEO of the company took offense at the President rightfully calling out EVERYONE responsible for their participation in violence. Equality has become what only the left defines. How about the racism, bigotry and misogyny of the Deputy Mayor of Charlotte who called for the statue removal? Where is this “concerned and righteous” CEO’s outrage for that? Her demand for the “correct” language and emphasis to condemn it? Silence. Crickets. You are hypocrites. No moral equivalency for that racism, Ms. CEO? Go back on the mountain of elitism where you sadly assume your customer base admires your hypocrisy. Let’s watch your share price now!

    • Greg

holly audette, she has more spine than you. you are a racist and bigot. you always bring other issues to distract from current shameful events. KKK and neo nazis should not exist in our free society, they are not to protest and no they don’t have free speech. you are playing with fire when you appease them and call them fine people like the president trump did.

  • Knowntome

What a reprehensible shame; The CEO of a major American corporation joining ranks with the violent alt-left in order to deny others, no matter how offensive their beliefs and expressions, their First Amendment rights. What Morrison will hopefully someday learn is that those she sides with seek only to destroy America’s freedom by eliminating her history, care not a whit about black people, and have more in common with Chairman Mao’s Cultural Revolution than any honest advancement of civil rights. Take comfort in knowing that if they succeed, one day they will be coming for you.

    • Nazis should be stomped into the ground.

      • fileous

        AND ANTIFA ALSO!

      • Perhaps you should study the history of the Democrats and their deeply ingrained racism. They were the party who established the “Jim Crow” Law which subjugated blacks. Those same “Jim Crow” laws were the basis for the Nuremberg Laws, under Hitler, for subjugating Jews. The KKK is so deeply ingrained in the Democrat psyche, that they were used at the enforcement arm to terrorize blacks. Former Senator Richard Byrd was a high ranking member of the KKK. President Jonson didn’t love black, he saw them as a voting block, he is quoted, by Robert Kessler, as saying “I’ll have those N*****s voting Democratic for 200 years.”. This occurred following the passage of the 1964 Civil Rights Act, which many Democrats voted against, and it was with the support of Republican, that the Act was passed. If you want more recent history, just look back to the 2008 Presidential Campaign, when Senator Harry Reid said the following: “Obama, as a black candidate, could be successful thanks, in part, to his “light-skinned” appearance and speaking patterns “with no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one.”

Now AntiFa (oxymoron of the decade), BLM, and NBPP are the enforcement arm of the Democrat Party.

        • Greg

BMorgan53, it is sad the racist always turns to obama, never to take responsibility for anything. we are here and now , trump is president and had a chance to unite country and dismiss the kkk and neo nazis but he didn’t and considered them a side in the argument. Even david duke sent him a thank you !

        • Racists in the south used to be Democrats. Now they are Republicans. The GOP courted the southern racists as part of their Southern Strategy to gain power after the civil rights movement.

And I don’t find Harry Reid’s comments to be racist at all. Perhaps a bit awkward and silly to say, but not racist. There is a black dialect in America and there is discrimination against people who speak with a black dialect. Reid was pointing out that Obama will experience less discrimination with lighter skin and his lack of black dialect. That is true in America and most other countries. People with lighter colored skin around the world are treated better.

      • Chaps Crumpton

Simkatu, I hate Nazis and KKK! I wonder if you also believe BLM, LaRaza and ANTIFA should be stomped in the ground? Which ones loot?burn?and destroy their own communities? Whoch ones cal for death to cops?

        • La Raza doesn’t even exist.

Anti-fascists would cease to exist once the Nazis are defeated once more as they always are.

BLM doesn’t advocate for black supremacy or the eradication of the white people.

          False equivalences are false.

    • DaveJ

The Campbell’s Board of Directors is probably relieved that they no longer have to answer for every dumb thing Trump says or does.

  • Still curious what took you so long and why you initially announced you would be staying on the council. Why would you want to be a part of WH filled with White Nationalists?

  • Racism and murder are unequivocally reprehensible and are not
morally equivalent to anything else that happened in Charlottesville.

    Virtue
signaling cucks. Antifa and Black lives matter are blatantly anti white
groups. You probably don’t even know they were there committing act of
violence against peaceful protesters There was no moral equivalency
anyway, he said there was violence on both sides.

I believe the President should have been – and still needs to be –
    unambiguous on that point.

BS, nothing he says or does will be good enough for you. I won’t be buying your products again.

    • Brent Jatko

      Trumpers delenda est.

  • Rob Campbell

I’ve never been more proud of Campbell’s in my entire life. I grew up having to explain using soup how to spell my last name.

There is a proverb that says “If you love your work, you won’t work a day in
your life”. I only wish I could work for the company that shares the
legacy of my name, because I’m starting to love you.

The actions of Denise Morrison in reinforcing the integrity of Campbell’s, with the
moral integrity, intelligence and courage that was needed walking away
from the contemptuous atmosphere represented in the conduct of the white
house this last week speaks volumes of our Campbell birthright. No
matter what anyone says; consumer confidence here gleams.

    Sincerely,
    Rob Campbell

Thank you for your resignation. We cannot tolerate injustice and discrimination in this country. We must be proactive against it and rapid in our actions.

  • Mary Kathryn

Just made my list of all of your brands so I will never make the mistake of paying good money for any of them. You either could not have possibly listened to what he said or you are an alt-left, antifa supporter – or both. Your boneheaded move was extremely anti-American and immature. You and the others acted like toddlers that throw a tantrum and threaten to take the bases and go home if they don’t get their way. My hope for you is that someone gives you a taste of your own medicine.

I would humbly suggest truth in advertising. Stop saying BLM, intifa, left, MSM, democrats, Clinton, Obama, Socoialists, Communists, even Marxists etc. etc. etc. Call them what they are: Bolsheviks. Use only the term Bolshevik when referring to these cretins. It is clearly the Bolshevik theology and tactics we are fighting.

  • Charles Shanley

Sorry Ms. Morrison, grandstanding accomplishes little if anything. If you truly believe Trump was wrong the better course would be to stay and help educate him and the administration. I am afraid you just tried to cowardly get out ahead of the mob that has been frothing at the mouth. Shame not kudos to you.

  • Katie Compton Villapudua

Good bye. I just told you that what you did was wrong. No soup anymore for my family. It’s so great that there are so many other options.

  • Augustus W. Mithoff

I was a frequent Campbell Soup consumer until today. The CEO wants to play politics. Two can play that game. She should have stayed out of it.

  • 1madgrannie

I am so glad you resigned from the council. We do not need weak kneed pc azzshats pretending to represent America. Your soups have been a cardiologist nightmare for decades. I and my daughters family will not be purchasing any Campbells product again. I hope the welfare queens that have no idea of nutrition can keep you going with their SNAP. I can most certainly make my own soups and broths-none of your other brands are needed. Liked V8 but gave it up years ago as even the low sodium is too high. I do not know why you think your opinion carries any sway with us. All you have done is drive away many of your customers.. Nice move CEO, perhaps the stock holders will reward your stupidity. I will forward this to my email list in hopes that they will dump Campbells as well.

  • No Deal

    Ms Morrison you are clueless.

Yes, the white supremacists racist are repulsive, but President Trump was absolutely correct in pointing out that Black Lives Matter and Antifa were on site and fully prepared for battle. BLM and Antifa are also domestic terrorist groups. The news media are in a psychotic meltdown as they just cannot believe that Trump was elected. Listening to the news media they would have you think there are many millions of white supremacists. The total number of Nazis, and white supremacists are less than .03% out of over 330 million Americans.

The second Bolshevik (far left liberals and Democrats) revolution has been underway for some time now. They are using black and Spanish people to advance their agenda. They are relentless in their desire for social discontent and violence because they have a warped view that they can rebuild everything in their socialist image. Obama did his best to accomplish his dream of a socialist state, but came short. Funny, Obama was so successful that his party has LOST over 1,000 federal and state legislative seats nations wide. Millennial’s are nothing but tools of their Bolshevik professors. If you are not familiar with the term Bolshevik you better look it up if you care anything about your future.

Campbell soup just lost another customer.

    • Greg

no deal, it is not about black lives matter or antifa or anything. it is about the presence of kkk and neo nazis boldly armed , holding torches with hitler salute. this is what is all about. David duke send a warm thank you for the president, you must be proud.

It took the fear of a bad earnings call to wall street to influence the corporate machine.

  • fileous

As a kid we equated campbells soup to BO. We would say “you smell like campbells soup” Tell CEO to cut out the virtue signalling and worry about making soup that tastes good. I still won’t buy that crap!

  • Ms. Morrison,

When President Trump addressed this on Saturday, he stated that ALL groups that participated are equally at fault. That included the KKK, AntiFA, BLM, and the NBPP. The history of ALL four groups is rife with violence, some of it long and others; not so much. President Trump was correct when he called out all groups, and didn’t specify just the KKK.

Perhaps you should study the history of the Democrats and their deeply ingrained racism.

President Trump has been around for years and not once during that time, had any charge of racism leveled against him. T racism charge was leveled once he began talking about building a wall between Mexico and the US. Each county has the sovereign right to control immigration into it. Rampant unchecked immigration can and does have disastrous results. Think not, just look at what’s happening in Europe recently given their “open arms” welcoming of Islamist into those countries.

You and other chose to bail on the President, which is your right, but it does show a lack of Corporate spine. Economically the 8 years under President Obama were disastrous for the people of this County. President Trump want to improve the economic condition for ALL of us and not just a select few.

You are not the only manufacturer of soups, I shall look for other sources or make my own.

My family has many generations who have always loved Campbell soup. Thank you for taking a strong, moral stand.

  • Louis Amodeo

You are so wrong and the cowardly stance is despicable. The President is not a racist. I will never buy your products and spread the word.

  • Meredith Brantley Overstreet

Thank you for standing up for the true ideals and values of this country and for loudly and clearly, denouncing racism and hatred. This is not the time to sit idly by and look the other way, or to pretend that our current president hasn’t readily made racist, bigoted and misogynist statements. Enough is enough. White supremacists aren’t “good people” and hate should be called out in no uncertain terms. Please use your sphere of influence as a prominent American brand to call on other leaders to stand up to president Trump and to denounce hate.

  • Chaps Crumpton

I have been a faithful consumer of V Vegetable, Tomato, V Beef Campbell Soup. I also ONLY buy Prego, and Swanson products. I will no longer purchase any of these products untill Ms Morrison retra ts her statement. Anyone that is not a political hack, knows that ANTIFA and BLM showed up to attack the legally sanctioned rally. I hate Neo (or any other) Nazis. I have fought against KKK in TX, but to say that Trump’s initial statement condemning ALL sides was insufficient is politically driven.

  • Chaps Crumpton

Ms Morrison, where was your outrage when the previous administration LIED about “hands up dont shoot”?
Where were you when President BHO said the boston police acted stupidly, only to discover they were right? Where was your outrage? I fear you are nothing more than a globalist, leftist, idealogue who looks down on us deplorable, irredeemables.

  • Deron Stockert

I am extremely disheartened by Ms. Morrison’s reaction and use of her position to play politics.
I believe one of the values of America is respect for our President.
I have been a customer since I was a child.
I will not purchase another Campbell’s product as long as Ms. Morrison is leading this company.

  • Kathryn

Never will purchase anything made by this company again. It is apparent she has hearing issues. I heard my president loud and clear. Fault on all sides.

  • Kathryn

My goodness. I just googled her name and you should see how much money she makes a year plus cash incentives. You can buy a country with this amount of cash.

  • Oldtreker

After hearing then reading President Trumps remarks it’s obvious either you didn’t read them or don’t want to. I have enjoyed Manhatten Clam Chowder for 45 years. I will never buy anything Cambell again.
    Hasta la vista”

  • Hein S

    TRUMP hates the Coloured.

    PLAIN AND SIMPLE

  • Terry Patterson

My Cousin Peter Philpot worked for your company as sales director England Europe. Peter formerly sales director for the Guinness Brewery before Diagio The Company bought Guinness and its subsidaries. I want to offer myself as an executive director mainly interested to triple your sales world wide, also to make your company a household name as it used to be a long time ago. re-organize your plants and processes to make you Great Again. Soup sold in containers should be as tasty as 5 * Cordon Bler cooking. as it was 60 years ago. contact email bookingsunnygolf@gmail.com

  • Mike Colistra

Thank you Denise for resigning from the MJI. Yesterday I wrote saying I would never be a customer of Campbell’s Soup again based on your initial silence on the Charlottesville matter, which I took as a sign of condoning the actions of the alt-right much like trump did. My family and I will now remain loyal customers of Campbell Soup. It is important to us that we spend our money with companies that can make a difference. Thank you again.

  • Nancy L Burdick

I wrote Denise Morrison and it is to her I wish to make this statement…BRAVO, I Applaud you for doing THE RIGHT THING! It is good to know that people that make healty food have a healthy life & Style. THANK YOU for making a difficult stand. HUGS

  • Dahlia Ross

GOOD MOVE, I’m with Campbell Soup!

  • lindasartori

Way to go, Campbell Soup and Ms. Morrison! Corporate responsibility in action!

  • Marci van Adelsberg

Ms. Morrison, what about President Trump’s response do you not understand? He condemned BOTH sides of the evil, each in their own beliefs, of racism, bigotry (Neo-Nazis, White Supremasists) and the hatred of free speech and American values (Antifa), has promulgated. I will NOT buy any more Campbells products: Campbell soups and broths, Goldfish, Pepperridge Farm, Pace, Prego, Royal Dansk and V8.

Ms. Morrison, your willingness to abandon our elected president for your fear of consumer reprisal is a very real threat. This consumer will NEVER buy your products again- until your actions show otherwise.

  • May Wilson

The presidents response to the violence in Charlottesville was clear and unambiguous. Antifa is full of violent racists and Marxists and is responsible for massive rioting and the murder of policemen across the country and they are every bit as reprehensible as the white supremacists.

    • pj4me

KUDOS!!!! You should be getting thousands of “likes” on your comments!!!

  • Becky Yates

Thank you! My personal boycott is officially over. It was a long three days with no Campbell’s Soup in the house. On my way to buy extra soup today!!!!!

  • Greg

king kari, he said two sides are to blame. since when kkk and neo nazis are a side in any civil society? they are terrorists and ignorants

  • David R Galli

    Dear Ms. Morrison,

Clearly you are a Democrat as evidenced by your response to the

Presidents statement on the Charlottesville tragedy.
This President, unlike most of his predecessors, waits until he has all the facts before addressing
the American people on any situation in specifics.

He made the perfectly correct statement laying blame on all those involved.

Why a CEO of a major American corporation would decide to infuse her personal political beliefs into her work is beyond me.

You have lost another consumer and any family member, friend, or acquaintance I can get to stop supporting Campbell’s.

    David G.

  • Rene Mead

Apparently Campbells has at its head someone with integrity. Kudos.

  • Sunny Lyrek

Thank You for standing up for what is right. I will re-post this. All that you are asking for is the president to be unambiguous on this issue. The attacks in the comments below are ignorant. I agree with Greg, there are not two sides when one side is the KKK and neo nazis. They are not part of a civil society, he is right, they are terrorists and ignorant.

And Misty D. Dady, you are a bully, no wonder you support the side of racism. Your comments to someone from another country are inappropriate and uneducated, just because they did not “wire” in English. I suppose that making fun of others is part of your witty repartee.

  • Janet Wilson Chavis

Denise, You are far too weak to be in your position as CEO of Campbell’s. And to think, women clamoring for positions like yours and then to know you failed at it BIGLY. I would just say that our wonderful President Trump, who 62 million Campbell Soup users voted for, is FAR, FAR ahead of you in thought and leadership capability. So, my dear, it’s time for you to resign and let someone more sensible take your place. And as for me, my Campbells Soup went in the trash and I won’t be buying anything knowingly made by your company. Ta Ta–

  • Gary Meadows

Really? Did the coward race traitor CEO Denise Morrison just use our term “Make America Great!” after she defected and joined the libtards and left our Savior Trump to the dogs?

  • Christina Baker

I’m going to miss the green bean casserole at Thanksgiving.

  • Ron David

Oh my goodness, I guess I will be buying my soups from other companies. Better yet, I’ll just make them from scratch. I don’t need you Campbell’s. President Trump is my President, and I voted for him. You just stomped all over those of us who voted for him.

  • Joshua Campbell

This is not what Campbell stands for. Companies, no matter what they sell or what the leadership believes, companies should not get into political issues. To issue a statement on the tragedy that happened in Charlottesville would be fine. Companies should not get political. To all those who no longer want to buy Campbell’s after this statement and resignation from the president’s manufacturing job initiative, I don’t blame you. Being apart of a manufacturing initiative should not have anything to do with how you feel about our president. #CEODenise, should not have withdrew from this initiative just because she has a disagreement with the president.

  • Ben Manning

    Mmm mmm good.

  • arty shertzer

thanks Denise, Im glad you see that there is no place for equivocation when it comes to people who glorify everything we as a nation stand against! I volunteer at a soup kitchen and this morning I bought a case of cream of mushroom soup..Campbells of course! Im using it with the 40 lbs of chicken breast I also bought to make for dinner. You go girl!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Matt McCool

Love it. She couldn’t have said it any better.

  • Chris Blackwell

Thank you Ms. Morrison for stepping up by stepping down. I would be proud to work with you as I am sure every valued team member of Campbell’s is.

  • Mackiston

I’ve been eating a can of Campbell soup 5 days per week for the last 8 years. No more. To hell with Campbell Soup.
