Today we’re excited to welcome Pacific Foods to Campbell, as we’ve just completed our $700 million acquisition of this leading organic brand.
For the past 30 years, Pacific has pioneered an impressive level of success in the natural foods market, with traditional recipes made convenient for busy, health-conscious consumers. It’s dedicated to sourcing simple, sustainably sourced ingredients; making products that nourish; and increasing access to healthful, wholesome foods.
We deeply respect all that Pacific has built. They have creative, category-leading soups, sauces, broths and stocks, non-dairy beverages, dips, meals and sides that will now join our own robust portfolio of organic foods – a portfolio that is now the top 10 in the industry.
Pacific will be a business unit within our Campbell Americas Simple Meals & Beverages division, where we’re focused on products sold in center store aisles. This is an area where more and more people are searching for foods that support their wellness.
We plan to boost marketing support and invest in operations, research and development to really grow the Pacific Foods brand. Today, a can of Campbell’s soup is in 90% of American households. We plan to use that reach to bring the delicious recipes at Pacific to more pantries across the US. So the next time you see their organic black bean and kale soup or their hazelnut chocolate beverage – two of my favorites – I hope you pick them up and give them a try.
