Tara Smith among 2016 ‘Women Worth Watching’

News

We’re proud to say that Tara Smith has been recognized as one of 162 Women Worth Watching in the 15th annual ranking by Profiles in Diversity Journal, which promotes and advances diversity and inclusion.

Tara is our Deputy Corporate Secretary and Corporate Counsel in addition to being the global co-chair and business advisor for the Women of Campbell employee resource group here at our world headquarters.

“I was extremely touched and humbled to be nominated for this honor by Campbell’s Workforce Diversity and Inclusion team,” said Tara Smith, who has been named among the annual Profiles in Diversity Journal recognition of women who promote diversity and inclusion.

“We have so many amazing, talented women at Campbell, and to be recognized for my efforts to help shape the agenda and priorities for the Women of Campbell, in addition to my core job responsibilities, means a great deal to me.”

Women Worth Watching award winners are chosen for being role models for and inspiring other women. Campbell’s nomination praised Tara as a “true advocate and champion for female mentorship, youth education, and empowering women to reach the highest levels of success,” and highlighted her work with the Women of Campbell and its executive sponsor, CEO Denise Morrison.

“Collectively, these women are forging ahead with global acclaim in strategies that are making a difference in their workplace, marketplace, and around the world,” said James Rector, publisher of Profiles in Diversity Journal. “These leaders bring an array of life experiences and views that consistently produce a variety of new concepts and ideas.”

In September, Tara will be featured in the magazine’s “Women Worth Watching” edition, and she will receive the organization’s crystal award.
