This holiday season, Swanson broth is in the second year of its exclusive sponsorship with the premiere food lifestyle magazine Bon Appétit with the app, Thanksgiving: A Bon Appétit Manual. The partnership of Swanson and Bon Appétit brings combined Thanksgiving authority to consumers with premiere recipes and meal preparation tips via an easy-to-use and highly-visual app.
The Swanson brand has identified their key consumer, the “Passionate Kitchen Master,” as someone who loves cooking, enjoys being creative in the kitchen and finds personal enjoyment in culinary pursuits.
In 2012, MRI and Time Inc. research noted 1 in 4 of all tablet/e-reader owners are those “Passionate Kitchen Masters,” with 69% using tablets in the kitchen at least once a week. To meet the “Passionate Kitchen Master” in the digital kitchen, Swanson is continuing to tap the expanding space where technology meets the culinary world.
Launched in 2013, the free Bon Appétit Thanksgiving app offered 101 recipes, advice from the magazine’s test kitchen and a scheduling tool for planning all the tasks that go into the big meal.
The magazine’s most downloaded app ever debuted its updated version on October 23 and features 13 new recipes, totaling 114 recipes, along with new tips, techniques and videos for heritage-filled dishes like stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy and others. Users will also be able to sign up for the Bon Appétit newsletter.
The app, available on iPhone and iPad devices via the iTunes App Store, and will be available soon on Android via Google Play.
