We just finished working on Campbell’s latest corporate social responsibility (CSR) and sustainability report. The report and website look great. It’s engaging, interactive and crammed full of facts, figures and stories about the Company, its brands and business units, and our performance.
Denise Morrison, President and CEO of Campbell begins the report with her annual “letter to stakeholders” and signs off with one of my favorite calls to action; “we believe we can make a profit and make a difference.”
This is our 5th comprehensive CSR report and it outlines our priorities and progress to our long-term CSR agenda. We have some great new initiatives and results to share including expanding healthy choices in the marketplace and our evolving partnership and integration of our newest businesses – Bolthouse Farms and Plum Organics. Plum Organics is not only a BCorp, but the only Public Benefit Corporation that is part of a traditional U.S. listed corporation. We outlined our Sustainable Agriculture efforts, the progress we’ve made in advancing Healthy Communities, strengthening our Supply Chain and advancing our industry-leading renewable energy strategy.
I’m excited and proud of the progress we have made and are making, but this isn’t new for Campbell. Throughout the report, you’ll find evidence of a commitment to Corporate Citizenship and Resource Stewardship that runs 145 years deep. This report isn’t just an accounting of our company’s performance, it is a recognition of, and testament to, the 20,000 people around the world that make the Campbell Soup Company who we are.
