CAMDEN, N.J.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Oct. 6, 2009– Campbell Soup Company (NYSE: CPB) today announced the appointments of Mark Alexander, 45, as Senior Vice President-Chief Customer Officer and President-North America Baking and Snacking, and Chris Delaney, 48, as President-Asia Pacific. Both appointments are effective today.

Alexander, who has been elected a corporate officer, will be responsible for Campbell’s global sales teams in North America, Europe and Asia Pacific, and will oversee the company’s Pepperidge Farm business. He will be based at Campbell’s headquarters in Camden and will report to Conant. In the role of Chief Customer Officer, Alexander succeeds Archbold van Beuren, who has been nominated for election to the Campbell Board of Directors at the annual meeting of shareowners on Nov. 19, 2009 and resigned from Campbell effective Oct. 1, 2009.
Alexander joined Campbell in 1989 and has held marketing, sales and management roles in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia and Hong Kong. Under his leadership as President-Asia Pacific since 2006, Campbell’s businesses in the Asia Pacific region have been consistently strong performers. Alexander earned his bachelor of arts degree in economics and political science from Queen’s University in Canada.
Delaney Named President-Asia Pacific
Campbell named Chris Delaney to the position of President-Asia Pacific, succeeding Alexander. In addition to overseeing all of Campbell’s businesses in the region, Delaney will be responsible for further developing the company’s business in China. He will be based in Sydney, Australia, and will continue to report to Larry McWilliams, President-Campbell International.
Delaney joined Campbell in 2004 as Vice President-International Sales. As President-Emerging Markets since 2006, he has led the teams responsible for establishing Campbell’s businesses in the key markets of Russia and China.
McWilliams said, “Chris Delaney has done an excellent job establishing our operations in emerging markets. He and his teams are responsible for many of the successes we have had to date, including our consumer research, product development, marketing, and distribution agreements.”
Delaney previously spent 20 years with Procter & Gamble, where he held sales and general management roles of increasing scope and responsibility in the U.S., Europe and the Middle East. He spent 10 years working in developing markets in Eastern Europe and the Middle East before returning to the U.S. as P&G’s Vice President, Market Strategy and Planning in North America. Delaney earned his bachelor of arts degree in history from Trinity College in Hartford, Conn.
Concurrently with these appointments, Campbell will manage its Russian business as part of Campbell’s European organization, headed by John Sechi, President-Campbell Europe, and its Chinese business as part of its Asia Pacific organization.
