CAMDEN, N.J.–(BUSINESS WIRE)– Campbell Soup Company (NYSE:CPB) today announced the appointment of Ashok Madhavan as Vice President – Treasurer. He will be based at Campbell’s headquarters in Camden and will report to Craig Owens, Senior Vice President – Chief Financial Officer and Chief Administrative Officer. The appointment is effective February 1, 2009.
Madhavan, 47, joined Campbell as Assistant Treasurer in 2004. He succeeds William O’Shea, who was previously appointed Vice President – Finance and Strategy, North America Soup, Sauces and Beverages.
In his new role, Madhavan will be responsible for the leadership and direction of all treasury activities, including corporate financial strategy, capital structure, cash management, risk management, credit operations, benefit plan investments and insurance. He also will manage Campbell’s relationships with lending institutions and rating agencies.
Owens said, “Ashok is a seasoned finance professional with more than 18 years of experience in corporate finance. At Campbell, he has consistently performed at a high level while leading our cash management, debt portfolio and other domestic and international treasury activities. His in-depth knowledge of Campbell and his proven track record of leadership make him the ideal candidate for this position.”
Earlier in his career, Madhavan was Director, Financial and Strategic Analysis at Bristol-Myers Squibb. Prior to that, he held a variety of corporate treasury roles at Bristol-Myers Squibb, PepsiCo. and Atlantic Richfield Corporation.
Madhavan earned his B.S. degree in electrical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and his M.B.A. degree in finance and general management from the Tuck School of Business Administration at Dartmouth College.
In his role as Vice President Finance and Strategy, North America Soup, Sauces and Beverages, O’Shea, 51, reports directly to Denise Morrison, President, North America Soup, Sauces and Beverages.
Prior to this role, O’Shea served as Campbell’s Treasurer for 8 years. He joined Campbell in 1996 as Controller U.S. Soup. In 1998, he was promoted to Vice President-Finance and Controller U.S. Grocery. Earlier in his career, O’Shea held a variety of finance positions at Scott Paper Company.

O’Shea earned his B.S. degree in business administration from Towson University in Maryland. He earned his M.B.A. degree from the Darden Graduate School of Business Administration at the University of Virginia.
