V8(R) 100% Vegetable Juice and Swanson(R) Broth Join Campbell’s(R) Soup Icons to Go Pink in Support of Breast Cancer Awareness Initiatives Nationwide
CAMDEN, N.J.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–
For the third consecutive year Campbell Soup Company (NYSE:CPB) will show its support for National Breast Cancer Awareness Month nationwide, this year by offering three different limited edition pink and white labeled branded products. The Kroger Company will carry exclusive pink and white labeled Campbell’s Chicken Noodle and Tomato condensed soups in its stores nationwide. V8 100% Vegetable Juice and Swanson chicken broth will show their support to the cause by featuring limited edition pink and white labels for the first time during the month of October. These two pink packages will be available in grocery locations across the country.
Campbell has pledged to donate $325,000 to help support breast cancer research, education, screening and treatment to a number of breast cancer awareness initiatives. This year’s donation will be directed to Breastcancer.org and The Kroger Co.’s “Giving Hope a Hand” corporate women’s health initiative, which assists regional breast cancer organizations nationwide. Campbell’s donations are intended to help raise awareness for breast cancer through early detection, diagnosis and treatment and are not linked to purchase price, unit sales, or retailer order and display levels. With this year’s pledge, Campbell’s three year donation to causes supporting breast cancer research and treatment will surpass $800,000.
“I am pleased that three of our most popular Campbell brands will be supporting breast cancer research and programs that help educate women about early detection, diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer,” said Denise Morrison, President, North American Soup, Sauces and Beverages. “This is a disease that continues to impact the lives of so many women and families across the country, many of whom purchase and enjoy Campbell’s soups, sauces and beverages. Our support for breast cancer research reflects Campbell’s commitment of nourishing people’s lives everywhere, every day.”
“We’re honored that Campbell Soup Company has chosen to support Breastcancer.org again this year,” said Dr. Marisa Weiss, President and Founder of Breastcancer.org. “Their commitment allows us to fulfill our mission to provide the best medical information and peer support to the millions around the world affected by breast cancer. Campbell shares a trusted relationship with the people we serve and has been a true champion in the effort to promote breast health and breast cancer education.”
In addition to its support of breast cancer research, Campbell supports numerous community initiatives including Labels for Education(TM), a school fundraising program that is the longest-running redemption program of its kind, benefiting more than 42 million students; Stamp Out Hunger, the nation’s largest one-day effort to combat hunger with the National Association of Letter Carriers; Shaping America’s Youth, a national nutrition and wellness program dedicated to helping build healthy lifestyles; and the Campbell’s Chunky/NFL Tackling Hunger program that aims to help fight hunger in America by generating awareness of the issue of hunger in America, as well as providing much needed food donations to food banks across the country.
