Labels for EducationSMJoins the Grammy Foundation(R) to Support Music Education in Cincinnati Schools

American Country Music Duo Kate & Kacey Announce Donation

CAMDEN, N.J., May 04, 2010 (BUSINESS WIRE) –Campbell Soup Company’s (NYSE: CPB) Labels for Education
program, which has supported music programs in thousands of schools
since its inception in 1973, joined the GRAMMY Foundation(R) to
bring Artist Ambassadors and American Country Music Duo Kate and Kacey
Coppola to Mount Washington Elementary School in Cincinnati to promote
the importance of music education in schools.

Kate & Kacey’s appearance is the second of four that will be sponsored
by Labels for Education and the GRAMMY Foundation. Each event,
which will be held in select schools across the country, features a
different GRAMMY Foundation Artist Ambassador sharing a personal
experience of music discovery with students. Other participating Artist
Ambassadors will include Dave Koz, Crosby Loggins and Janelle Monae.
During each event, schools receive 100,000 Labels For Education
Bonus Points, which can then be used to secure additional educational
equipment and resources, including musical instruments.

“Our partnership with the GRAMMY Foundation has enabled the Labels
For Education
program to provide schools access to the innovative
resources students need today for a well-rounded music education,” said
Anne Pizarro, Campbell’s Labels For Education Director. Through
the partnership, the GRAMMY Foundation’s proprietary Discovery Through
Music(TM) curriculum will be made available to nearly 60,000 schools
nationwide that are registered in this year’s Labels for Education
program.

Research has shown that when students have access to enrichment programs
including music and arts, they tend to also perform better in the
classroom. Unfortunately, music programs are being eliminated at many
elementary and secondary schools due to the budget pressures impacting
schools across the country.
