As the Safety Trainer at our Pacific Foods location in Tualatin, Oregon, Julia Lewis’ job is to keep our employees safe. Unsure of what personal protective equipment should be used? Looking for the emergency exits? Learning how to safely operate a forklift? Julia can help!
“Safety is really important to me,” Julia says. “I’m responsible for making sure that the people that come to work every day go home the same way they arrive.”
When Julia started at Pacific Foods in 1998 the company had just over 100 employees and no formal training process. As the first Latina on an all-male team, and an English language learner, she helped establish the new safety programs that she now leads.
Today, Julia is a recognized leader within our safety team and a valued mentor to many employees—both on and off the production floor. What makes Julia the proudest in her job? Seeing the people she’s trained grow and develop! Meet Julia and learn more about her role as Safety Trainer:
