Supporting nonprofits that fight racism and discrimination

Inclusion & Diversity

The Campbell Soup Foundation is providing $500,000 in social justice grants as part of our three-year, $1.5 million commitment to support nonprofit organizations that raise awareness, advance education, and fight racism and discrimination.

The Foundation worked with members of our Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) to select the organizations, which will receive grants ranging from $20,000 to $175,000.

Below is the full list of the latest grant recipients:

“Advocacy is a key pillar of our inclusion and diversity (I&D) strategy, as we work to strengthen our ally networks by supporting our employees, partners, and the communities where we live and work. We are proud to contribute to the important work that these organizations are doing to promote access, equity, and inclusion in our communities.”

– Camille Pierce, Senior Vice President and Chief Culture Officer

These grants mark the second year of our three-year commitment to support organizations working on social justice issues. In July 2020, we awarded grants of $400,000 to the Equal Justice Initiative and $100,000 to the Boris L. Henson Foundation.

Over the past year, our ERGs and Foundation created social justice funds, with eligible employee donations to the funds matched at 100% by the Foundation for a specified period—above our standard 50% match for employee charitable contributions.

To date, the Foundation has matched employee contributions for funds created by these ERGs:

“Employee engagement has always been a significant part of our community affairs work at Campbell. We’re honored to provide financial support to these organizations advancing causes that are important to our employees.”

– Kim Fortunato, President of the Campbell Soup Foundation

Building a winning team and culture is a core pillar of our strategic plan. It’s all part of our actionable I&D strategy focused on increased learning opportunities, advocacy for ally networks and communities, and transparency and accountability.
